What resin is used for fiberglass molds?
The resin used for making fiberglass molds needs to be determined based on your process and dimensional accuracy requirements.

Simply put, like most hand laid fiberglass molds, you can use vinyl resin or mix it with zero shrinkage resin. But for epoxy resin components that require later heating and curing, if the mold is for long-term use, it is recommended to still use epoxy mold resin, which will have higher durability, cost, and production process will be relatively complex.
For some large polyester molds, such as yacht molds, it is obvious that standard mold resins are used entirely, and the material cost is too expensive. Most of them still use unsaturated resins and add more fillers to reduce shrinkage.
