Methyl Iso Butyl Ketone Peroxide --- Trigonox Hma

Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MIBKP) is used for curing unsaturated polyester resins in the range of 60-150℃ or in the presence of a cobalt accelerator. When used at room temperature, it has a longer gel time and service cycle, but at higher temperatures such as 60-150℃, the cure will be faster. The production of filament winding and flat and corrugated plates. When used at high temperature, without adding cobalt accelerator, it will also show high activity.

Note on use of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide:

When methyl ethyl ketone peroxide is added to cobalt accelerator to produce plate and corrugated plate, discoloration will occur. As an auxiliary curing agent in pultrusions, Norion HMA can be combined with low active peroxides such as Trigonox 22-B50 or Trigonox C for full curing.



Trigonox Hma Preservation precautions

The performance of organic peroxide is unstable, and certain quality will be lost during storage. In order to minimize the loss, it is recommended that the maximum storage temperature should not exceed 25℃ during storage of peroxide. Store at the required temperature with a shelf life of three months!

Trigonox HMa has a slightly different composition as Trigonox HMSIt is based on TXIB and Diacetone alcohol

Reactivity

Trigonox HMa has higher reactivity at ambient temperature which may affect the gel time and the effectivity of doctor blade
Trigonox HMa has the same reactivity as Trigonox HMS at 50, 60 and 70°C
